It usually lasts a couple of hours and costs the same 150 € anywhere in Estonia (200 € for the Premium package or 18 devices or more). The technician fixes the sensors, plugs in the hub, tests every device and sets up the app on your phone.

No cables are run, the sensors are fixed with small screws

The price is the same in Tallinn, Tartu and the countryside

All you need is a free power socket and access to every room

Many people put off ordering an alarm system because they picture building work: cables in the walls, dust on the floor and strangers in the house for days. With a wireless home alarm it is different. A GSMvalve technician comes once, usually works for a couple of hours, and only finishes when every sensor has been tested and the alarm reaches your phone. Below is what happens before, during and after the visit.

What happens before the technician’s visit?

Leave your name and number. We call you within one working day and talk through whether it is a flat, a house, a summer cottage or a small business. A call-back request is not binding: you think it over and only then decide.

On the call you hear what is in the package and the price. Start suits a flat (6 devices), Plus a house or small business (11 devices) and Premium a large house (18 devices). If no package fits exactly, you can put together your own kit in the package builder. Then we agree a time for the visit.

What do you need to prepare before the installation?

Not much. You don’t need to move furniture or prepare the walls, because the sensors are fixed with small screws. Just think about these five things:

A power socket for the hub. Ideally in the middle of the home, not in the far corner of the basement. The hub is the only device with a power lead.

Access to the rooms. The technician needs to reach every spot where a sensor goes, including the boiler room, garage and attic.

Users. Who else should get alarm notifications: your partner, children, a neighbour? The technician adds them as users straight away.

Entrance. Which door do you use every day? The keypad goes next to it.

Pets. Let us know if you have a pet. The motion sensor is pet-immune up to 30 kg, but only at the right height and angle.

How long does installation take and what does it cost?

Usually a couple of hours. A flat with the Start package is quicker. A large house with the Premium package, 18 devices and an outdoor siren takes longer. Most of the time goes not on fixing but on testing: the technician checks every sensor separately and makes sure the notification reaches your phone. The installation price is the same everywhere in Estonia, whether your home is in Tallinn, Pärnu or on Saaremaa.

Package

For

Devices

Installation

Start

flat

6

150 €

Plus

house or small business

11

150 €

Premium

large house

18

200 €

Your own kit

up to 17 devices

your choice

150 €

Your own kit

18 devices or more

your choice

200 €

All prices include VAT. Installation for business customers is 121 € + VAT (Premium 161 € + VAT).

Where does the technician put the sensors?

The technician walks through your home with you and agrees a spot for each device. Usually it looks like this:

Hallway. A door sensor on the front door, the keypad next to the door on the inside, the indoor siren (110 dB) in the corridor. A motion sensor with camera also fits in the hallway. It sends a series of photos when the alarm goes off, even in the dark.

Living room. A motion sensor in the corner at 2.1 m, facing the door. One sensor covers about 30 m².

Ground floor windows and balcony door. A door sensor on the frame of a window that opens, or a glass break sensor that hears breaking glass from up to 8 m away.

Bedroom corridor. A smoke detector on the ceiling. In night mode the doors, windows and outdoor sensors are armed, but you can move freely around the house.

Room with a stove or boiler room. A combined smoke, carbon monoxide and temperature detector.

Bathroom and washing machine. A water leak sensor with its cable probe on the floor.

Outside wall. An outdoor siren with flashing light (110 dB) in a visible spot, and on a house also an outdoor motion sensor.

Tip. Choose a power socket for the hub in the middle of your home, not in the furthest corner. That way the radio connection to all sensors is even, and devices you add later will also be in range. The hub handles up to 96 devices, so you can add more later.

What does the technician do during the visit?

Walk-through. We go through the rooms and agree the spot for each sensor.

Fixing. Sensors are screwed to the wall or ceiling, the hub goes into the socket and the sirens go in their places.

Setup. The technician pairs the devices with the hub, sets up the app on your phone and adds the other users. Every user gets the alarm.

Testing. Every sensor is triggered separately, the sirens are switched on briefly and we check that the notification reaches your phone.

How to use it. The technician shows you how to arm and disarm the system with a keypad code or tag, with the 4-button key fob (arm, disarm, night mode, alarm) and from your phone.

A sensor only counts as installed once its alarm has reached your phone. Fixing takes minutes, testing takes time.

What happens after installation?

The system works straight away. The app shows who armed or disarmed it and when, every alarm (which sensor and what time) and the battery levels. The hub has a backup battery and a SIM card, so the alarm goes out even during a power cut or internet outage.

If you want more devices later, for example a water leak sensor for the summer cottage over winter or an outdoor motion sensor for your house, you don’t need to reinstall the whole system. When you buy, extra devices don’t raise the monthly fee (9.18 €). When you rent, repairs are charged by the price list. Bought devices come with a 2-year right to claim. After that, a technician visit costs from 35.20 € (includes half an hour of work).

Frequently asked questions

<details class="wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow">
How much does alarm system installation cost?

Installing a GSMvalve alarm system costs 150 € incl.
